Varna Free University (VFU) was established as an independent, democratic educational institution in 1991. Five years later it received the status of a higher educational institution. In 2001 VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar” becomes Bulgaria’s first non-governmental university, accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation at the Council of Ministers , member of ENQA (12 April 2001).

VFU has been assertively establishing itself within Bulgarian academic community and is a welcomed partner of the academic structures in Western Europe, the CIS countries and the USA.

The University is a member of The European University Association (EUA), The Black Sea University Network (BSUN), The Bulgarian-Russian Educational Association, the Association of the Private Higher Institutions in Bulgaria (http://aphei-bg.org/), The Global Compact – a voluntary international network at the UN and the International Academy of the Complex Safety Sciences.

The main goal of Varna Free University is the responsibility for the permanent implementation of the “total quality” philosophy.

Varna Free University in cooperation with Casa College introduces a series of Bachelor, Master and soon PhD Degrees .
